Moon rituals are ancient and sacred practices that date back to ancient times in Egypt, Babylonia, India, and China. Moon worship was so much a part of these cultures, that they believed the phases of the moon influenced the growth of plants, animals, and even human beings.
Today, moon rituals carry just as much sacredness and bring a beautiful, historical practice into the modern world. Going back to our ancestor's roots is something we desperately need in our chronically busy and stressed-out way of life. Practicing rituals can be extremely beneficial when life is filled with challenges, heartache, fear, and despair.
The beautiful thing about rituals, especially full and new moon rituals, is that they invite us to step back, reflect, and take some quiet time to ourselves. Moon Rituals ask you to plant seeds of intention, to release the old and bring in the new.
Moon Phases
Each phase of the moon has different energies that if harnessed right, can be very healing and supportive.
RITUALS
While each phase of the moon has its own benefits and blessings, we will focus on the main, most powerful phases as to not become overwhelmed by feeling the need to do a ritual every couple nights.
The New Moon is a blank page, a fresh start, a night to turn inward and consider what we want to call into our lives. It's a time for rest, reflection, dream-building, and planning for what we desire for our future.
A New Moon Ritual is best practiced from within the comfort of your own home. One activity I enjoy doing on the night of the New Moon is creating a Vision Board. Vision boards are a collage of images and words representing a person's wishes or goals, intended to serve as inspiration or motivation.

With the Full Moon, it is time to create space to think of what hasn't come to fruition and what needs to be released from your reality in order to manifest your desires. A Full Moon Ritual is a time to get quiet and reflect on what needs to stay, to grow, or to simply just go.
A Full Moon RItual is best practiced outside, under the light of the moon, or in a clean and quiet space indoors. My favorite Full Moon practice is writing down everything I'd like to release from my reality, then burning it until it's ash floating into the night sky.
